My artwork captures the essence of festivals by paying homage to nature with designs that reflect its inherent geometries, surpassing simple aesthetic appeal. It draws from the seasonal metamorphosis of nature, embodied by a flower—a universal symbol of festivity. The installation comes alive as individual lights mimic the form of flowers, mirroring the dynamic stances found in the natural world. The 3D-printed floral features are imbued with a palette of colors reminiscent of the varying shades produced by the sun and moon. The interactivity of the blooming lights is enhanced by the presence of visitors, whose movements contribute to the ever-changing ambiance. In this way, the space becomes an enchanting tableau, pulsating with the vibrant rhythms of the living environment.

The theme serves as a conduit between the mundanity of our daily existence and the fleeting splendor of the natural world, which often reveals itself in wondrous forms. Flowers, as representations of the vitality of nature, are central to the motif. The installation breathes life into the space with the fantastical essence of a fairytale, introducing the vivid spirits of flowers that, in a sense, mirror our innermost energies. It acts as a symbolic gateway to the magical woodlands of our younger years—a realm inhabited by fairy beings, providing a sanctuary from the bleakness that can overshadow contemporary life.

Visitors are initially met with a radiant orb. On closer examination, they realize that this orb is a constellation of individual blossoms, each uniquely posed to reflect the verisimilitude of the natural world. The experience is designed to reawaken a childlike awe, offering solace in the face of widespread melancholy. Its immersive nature seeks to foster a renewal of hope and dreamlike curiosity.

The installation consists of seven different types of translucent plastic flowers, each meticulously 3D printed to capture intricate geometries. These plastics are reclaimed from recycled goods, underscoring the project’s commitment to environmental responsibility. Aluminum hollow rods are engineered to support the flowers and house optical fiber cables, with one end of the cable lighting up the floral elements and the other connected to a light source. A sphere crafted from milled plywood, with holes precisely drilled, provides the structural foundation for affixing the floral pieces and cables.
